When you first walk through the door you’ll immediately feel that this is going to be a special holiday. From the bright open concept living, dining area to the FABULOUS GOURMET KITCHEN, you will de-stress quickly and enjoy some much needed quality time with the family, friends or a romantic getaway with your significant other. When you're ready for bed, you'll be lulled to sleep by the CALM OCEAN BREEZES. Each of the 4 BEDROOMS has LUXURIOUS FLUFFY DUVETS to snuggle under. There is a KING SIZE bed in the MASTER, a DOUBLE in the 2nd BEDROOM on the MAIN FLOOR and a 3 PIECE MARBLE BATHROOM with a very large SHOWER. UPSTAIRS you'll find 2 more BEDROOMS - 1 with a QUEEN BED and the 4th BEDROOM with 2 TWINS. This floor has a 4 PIECE MARBLE BATHROOM with a nice SOAKER TUB.
Nice clean new house, gated community, close to the beach, quiet neighborhoods and swimming pool About 65 KM from Nanaimo (about 50 minutes drive to Nanaimo) We rented this house starting July 19 and stay in this house for 7 nights. The house is a newer house and pretty clean when we first come in. It has 4 bedroom (two on the main floor and two on the upstairs). Although it is not a huge house, but we found it has a lot of space with 9 people around. The house is located in a small, gated community, which makes us feel pretty safe. My neighbors are pretty quite, no loud music, we all can have a good sleep. Although this house is not water front property, but it only took 2 to 3 minutes to the beach. Actually we can see the ocean from the front door. The beach itself is the rock beach, but the view is pretty good and no other people around. We even saw a couple sea lion lying on the beach one morning (when is low tide). The back house is face a green space and right crossing a from outdoor pool and small gym. My 6 years old son really love the pool and even made a couple of new friends when we stay there. Close to Horne Lake Caves Provincial Park and Macmillan Provincial park. It also closed to Campbell river, where we can go digging some horse clams. In the conclusion, we are pretty satisfied with this house and would like to go back for an another vacation.Stayed: July 2014

If you're used to vacationing at impersonal hotels where you get tired of eating out all the time, it's nice to change it up once and a while. At our beach house, you can do a bit of both. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you might need to create a feast, however if cooking's not your bag or you want to try some of the great restaurants nearby - the choice is yours! Perhaps you'll want to sample some of the great seafood from the area...some shrimp on the barby (propane BBQ supplied of course!), or perhaps you're more into local scallops, mussels, halibut and of course salmon. After dinner, take your cocoa and marshmallows down to the FIRE PIT by the ocean to top off the night. Once you've unpacked, you'll want to check out the development. Take a stroll out the patio doors across a lovely large grassy area where you can have a game of bocce or croquet. Directly across from our back patio is the CLUBHOUSE, POOL, AND HOT TUB AREA (pool and hot tubs open seasonally). Inside the clubhouse, you can challenge your son to a game of snooker on the POOL TABLE. If you want to keep those extra pounds at bay, keep up your exercise regime and enjoy the very WELL-EQUIPPED GYM. The POOL is very inviting and a nice size for kids and adults alike. The HOT TUBS also beckon - one for the kids and one for the adults! Take a stroll down to the BEACH which is moments away from the beach house. It is a beautiful sight - watch the cruise ships, sea lions, seals or you could be lucky enough to catch sight of a pod of killer whales!

Sing a Song of Sand Dollars
This particular region of Vancouver Island boasts long wide stretches of sand perfect for discovering sand dollars, sea stars, crabs and the occasional jellyfish. With 19 km (12miles) of beautiful sandy beaches it is hard to imagine feeling crowded even on the hottest of summer days. In Parksville, the Community Beach features a terrific beachside playground and water park. When the tide is in, it is here that the warmest waters north of California are found. Endless days could be spent playing, relaxing, digging, exploring, building and picnicking on these beaches. Travel tip: Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen.
To Market to Market
The Coombs Old Country Market isn’t just a place to buy vegetables. On the Alberni Hwy in Coombs, the Market has been around for over 30 years. While it started as a produce stand it has grown to encompass so much more. While there is still a produce section, the market is known for its unique gift items and its atmosphere. Here you will find an ever-changing supply of unique and interesting wares. Of course, the goats on the sod roof are a big part of the fun too. Travel tip: Extra parking and a nice quiet café are up the road behind the Market.
Just a few kilometres (miles) from the Old Country Market, witness a caterpillar’s metamorphosis at Butterfly World. There are at least 400 butterflies everyday in this tropical oasis. Each week new pupae arrive from different locations throughout the world. They are hung in special mesh or glass enclosures so that visitors can see the butterflies emerge prior to being released to fly freely throughout the humid, tropical environment of Butterfly World. One of the special features of this flighty kingdom is that the butterfly’s entire life cycle can be viewed. With careful observation visitors can see eggs, caterpillars and for those with enough patience, butterflies laying eggs. Travel tip: wear bright colours.
Tiger Lily Farm is an Errington petting farm that has progressively grown into what it is today: a hands-on experience for kids of all ages. Aside from petting sheep, chicks, bunnies, ponies and calves, children also have the opportunity to collect freshly laid eggs. The slightly more adventurous can try their hand at milking a goat. The goat’s milk is bottled and then fed to the calves. Travel tip: A farm is a farm; bring a change of footwear.
Also in Errington is the North Island Wildlife Recovery Centre. The staff on this eight-acre site provide rehabilitation to ill, injured or orphaned wildlife, such as bears, owls, falcons, ferrets and eagles. A self-guided tour takes 15,000 visitors each year through a virtual outdoor museum of West Coast animals. The 43m (140ft) long eagle flight cage allows a close up look at these powerful birds.
